After School Language

Open to Everyone. Learn a Language. Build Confidence.

Ages 3–5 and 6–10 | Mandarin & Spanish

Our After School Language Program is open to all children in the community. Your child does not need to be a HudsonWay Immersion School student to participate. Students ages 3–10 can choose Mandarin or Spanish, taught by native-speaking teachers in a supportive and engaging environment. Students are grouped by age and language level to provide instruction that meets them where they are and helps them continue to grow. Through conversation, games, stories, creative activities, projects, and cultural experiences, students build practical language skills and confidence using a new language.

Two Age Groups, One Language Journey

Ages 3–5  Play. Listen. Learn. Speak.

Young learners build foundational language skills through songs, stories, movement, games, hands-on activities, and conversation. Students develop vocabulary, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and confidence while being introduced to age-appropriate reading and writing.

Ages 6–10 Speak. Read. Write. Communicate.

Older students take their language skills further through conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing. Interactive activities, role-play, real-life situations, and projects give students opportunities to use Mandarin or Spanish in meaningful ways.

More Than Learning Words

Build Real Language Skills

A structured, age-appropriate curriculum helps students develop practical listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Learn at Their Level

Students are grouped according to their age and language level so instruction can be tailored to their existing skills while helping them make meaningful progress.

Communicate with Confidence

Students practice using Mandarin or Spanish in meaningful conversations and real-world situations, building confidence as they communicate.

Learn Through Experience

Language comes to life through stories, games, cultural activities, creative projects, role-play, and hands-on learning.

See What They're Learning

Students complete a final project, and families receive access to a Google Photos album throughout the year to see what their children are doing and learning in class.
