On Sunday, April 21, over 300 families from across the city joined in a free public celebration of United Nations Chinese Language Day hosted by HudsonWay Immersion School in Midtown West. The excitement was palpable as attendees were eager to immerse themselves in a vibrant celebration of Chinese language and culture. Ambassador Huang Ping, the Consul General of China in New York spoke about the importance of language and cultural learning in building bridges, and reiterated China’s invitation for 50,000 American students to study in China over the coming years. Also in attendance were the education chairman and vice consul of the consulate, administrators from the leading Beanstalk International School in Beijing, China, teachers from the New York Chinese Cultural Center, and students from Nightingale-Bamford as well as students and staff from HudsonWay.
